Why not print these off, colour them, and then hand them out as Easter Cards? We handed out little Easter packages to four of our neighbours (we could only buy four of anything at our grocery store!) to cheer them up from physical distancing, and to celebrate Easter. We included things like cookies, candy, colouring book, glow bracelets, with the gift bag handles tied together with a helium balloon. And each gift was sent with an Easter card made of one of these printables, and coloured by my kids. We wrote on the back of them, the same way we do for Valentine’s cards. We had so much fun dropping them on the front porches, knocking and running away! We sanitized thoroughly before packing these gifts! One neighbour left their package in a 48 hour quarantine before opening it, just to be careful – not a bad idea!

While I love the beautiful eggs and the adorable Easter chicks, I marvel at the beauty of the cross. The cross was originally a cause of excruciating pain followed by death, a punishment for wrongdoing, a symbol of shame. But Jesus Christ used the cross to free us from the punishment for our wrongdoing (Matthew 27). He died on the cross to take the consequences of our sin. The cross, an ugly, rough wooden monstrosity can now be beautiful because of the things it now represents: freedom, forgiveness and love. Our artist, Janet, has made these stained glass versions of the cross. She can make the cross beautiful, because Christ made the cross beautiful first. And the best part is, that after Jesus died on the cross as a punishment for all the wrong things we have ever done, and will ever do, he rose from the dead (Matthew 28)! He is in Heaven with God, waiting for the time when we can join Him. And we can only join him because of what he did for us on the cross. The Bible say in Acts 16:31, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.” He has made us worthy to stand with Him! Thank you, Jesus!

Meet the Artist

Here is the artist, my dear friend Janet! You may recognize her beautiful style from our Free Printable Valentines:

Thank you, Janet, for sharing your gift with us! My kids just loved colouring them. They kept on saying, “These are so beautiful!”

If you don’t understand what I’m talking about Jesus dying to save us all from punishment, please take a moment to message me. I would love to tell you more about how Jesus Christ has saved you, like he saved me. There is also more information on the About Me page. I pray that this Easter you can celebrate beyond bunnies and chicks. That you can know the fullness of this Easter season!
