We play war all the time around here. Usually it’s setting up a bunch of toys facing each other, then throwing them and smashing them together until one side is utterly destroyed. But this time the boys wanted to make bombs for their war. It reminded me of these popsicle stick bombs we used to make as kids. They are fun, fast and easy to make, so you can restock your arsenal as you play! These popsicle stick bombs are safe enough that they can be thrown at each other with no damage to people or furniture or walls (to date).
Supplies:
- Popsicle sticks (you need 5 sticks to make one bomb)
Instructions:
Make a V out of two popsicle sticks. (You can’t let go of the sticks until after the last step because it uses tension to hold together.)
Put a third stick in between the two sticks.
Put the next one (the red one in this case) threaded over the V and under the middle stick. It should look like it’s pushing the middle stick up.
Thread the last popsicle stick the opposite way. Now you can let go of it. It’s a complete popsicle stick bomb!
