We've had some sort of stomach thing going through or house since Tuesday. I had it Wednesday, when I realized how self-sufficient my kids are. My husband kept offering to come home from work, but I kept saying, "Actually, the kids are doing great!" My four-year-old made us lunch (toast), my eight- year-old made me several cups of tea, my three-year-old brought me water, they all did some school work all by themselves and generally played well all day. They didn't even have any screen time! I stayed in bed or on the couch all. day. long. The boys in my family are still sick. (Isn't it exhausting when your spouse is sick?)And my girls are playing "Moms" downstairs. Time for some tea and some crafting. I spend so much of my time around Christmas crafting, and I love it so much! I feel that so much of the year I'm squeezing my crafts into such a small amount of time, trying to justify spending so much time on myself and my interests. But at Christmas time there are so many things to make for so many people and a specific deadline. It's totally a legitimate activity! My husband never makes me feel like my crafting cuts into our time, or takes me away from things I should be doing, but I put pressure on myself. When I craft I make messes, and it keeps me from cleaning up the messes that are already around, like vacuuming and tidying, washing dishes and cleaning bathrooms. But I really do love it; crafting makes me happy! What about you?
